Teriyaki Sauce Recipe

Here’s a basic teriyaki sauce recipe that you can use for various dishes:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. If you want a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a couple of tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Stir this into the sauce mixture.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the teriyaki sauce cool slightly.
  5. You can use the teriyaki sauce immediately to marinate chicken, beef, salmon, or vegetables for about 30 minutes to an hour before cooking.

Enjoy your homemade teriyaki sauce! Adjust the sweetness or saltiness to your taste by adding more honey or soy sauce as needed.
