Crab Cake

Here’s a classic crab cake recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of lump crabmeat, picked clean of shells
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lemon wedges and tartar sauce for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crabmeat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, green onions, red bell pepper, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into crab cakes. You can make them whatever size you prefer, but about 1/3 cup of mixture per cake is a common size.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
  4. Carefully place the crab cakes into the hot skillet and cook until they are golden brown on each side, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  6. Serve the crab cakes hot with lemon wedges and tartar sauce on the side.

Enjoy your homemade crab cakes!
