- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Ingredients for Chocolate Sauce:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the flour until it forms a smooth dough.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Spoon the churro dough into a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle.
- Carefully pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry the churros until they turn golden brown and crispy, usually about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the churros from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain the excess oil.
- Mix 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll the warm churros in the sugar-cinnamon mixture until they are well coated.
- For the chocolate sauce, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it starts to simmer.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until the mixture becomes smooth and velvety.
- Serve the freshly fried churros with the warm chocolate sauce for dipping and enjoy!
Note: Be careful while working with hot oil and always use caution to avoid burns. Serve the churros and chocolate sauce immediately for the best taste and texture. Enjoy your delicious Churros con Chocolate!
