Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Dough Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 large eggs

Filling Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Icing Ingredients:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk, butter, and water until warm (about 120-130°F).
  3. Pour the warm milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir well.
  4. Add the eggs and gradually mix in the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a 15×9-inch rectangle.
  8. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
  9. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle it over the buttered dough.
  10. Starting from the long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  11. Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
  12. Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  13. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  14. Bake the cinnamon rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  15. While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing by mixing together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
  16. Once the cinnamon rolls are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  17. Drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls.
  18. Serve the delicious cinnamon rolls while they are still warm and enjoy!
