Pancake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or substitute with regular milk)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (plus extra for greasing the pan)
  • Optional toppings: maple syrup, fresh fruit, chocolate chips, etc.

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. It’s okay if there are a few lumps in the batter.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with butter.
  5. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another minute or until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the cooked pancakes to a plate and cover with a clean kitchen towel to keep them warm while you cook the remaining batter.
  7. Serve the pancakes with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, or chocolate chips.
